By the decision of the Capital City Citizens 'Representatives' Khural, the Governor of the Capital City and the Mayor of Ulaanbaatar's Decree No. 230 of 2009, the historical construction of the “National Garden Park” had begun. The National Garden Park operates in order to protect the drinking water source of the Tuul River near the capital city of Ulaanbaatar, reduction of air pollution, and providing a healthy and clean eco-environment for the citizens of the capital city. 183 hectares of land has been master planned and detailed from total of 973 hectares of park is planned to be established, of which the first 30 hectares of land has been approved and detailed work plans and budgets have been approved, and construction work is underway and the city is open to the public. In 2009, the Pre-Operation Administration of the “National Park” was established in the City Landscaping Department under the Mayor's Office, in order to provide unified management to intensify this work, the Heads of the Citizens' Representative Khural established the “National Garden Park” LOBE (Locally Owned Budgetary Enterprise) by Resolution No. 30 of 2010. It was first established in 2010 with 27 people, but by the Decree No. 756 of 2011, it has increased its staff to 113 people.
"National Garden Park" locally owned budgetary enterprise is to protect the drinking water source of the Tuul River in the capital city, reduce air pollution, increase green space, spend public recreation and leisure time properly, and create a healthy eco-environment.
